Title: church and fashion
.

people go to church to feel part of a larger society and to be appreciated (have enough social support), to seek answers to certain questions and problems, protection, to learn more about the word of God, make new friends and renew old ones. Ladies do you go to church to find the latest kind of dresses, shoes and bags . Even at church you meet people unconsciously and say wow, I like your dress. The church is suppose to be a place where both men and women are supposed to dress “decently” proclaimed by some Christians. Gone are those days when people were long sleeves and long skirts to churches. In modern times, one has to be disciplined and focused in church in order not to be distracted by the gorgeous and splendid dresses of both the youth ladies and older women. Unlike some churches where women are obliged to cover their hair with scarf, most churches allow women to dress the way they like to church. In the church one could find all kinds of hair styles, make ups, dressing bags and dresses. It is not up to be to decide whether it is right to wear certain things to church or not but i think even in the presence of God one need to feel confident about what you wear to church. I visited a catholic church one day and during the offering time, all i was observing is the dresses and wishing i had sent a camera to the church. I personally think sometimes people overdress to church but I think if they feel good, that is fine. A story is told of a priest giving communion to its church members. So when he takes the break, he would say this is the body of Christ. Then it got to the turn of a lady whose dress was showing all half of her breast and the priest saw it and said : ‘this obviously is not the body of Christ” . Fashion is penetration every nook and cranny of society. Everybody is getting the message. Whenever you go to church know that God wants you to look good, decent and confident.
